We pulled this rodent out of an engine bay last week. In Southern Utah, small critters crawling into warm engines is very common.
This one only took out a belt and radiator, but sometimes the damage can run into thousands or even cost a motor.
A few quick tips:
• Pop the hood and check if your car sits for a few days or more
• Keep food and pet feed away from where you park and park away from tall grass or wood piles
• Use deterrents like light and sound if critters are a repeat problem
