What is a single Degree?

When we think in terms of measurable damage, we may look at a sensor that is a degree off as being within acceptable tolerance.

Unfortunately, this is not the case with ADAS sensors. A difference of just one degree may have a huge impact on what the sensor is seeing.

Here we show what the sensor is looking at using a strong laser. The laser is set to look straight forward. The laser hits the target almost directly in the center of the target. WHen the laser was moved one degree to the right, you can see that the laser is no longer hitting the target. When we did this test, the target was placed 15 feet in front of the radar. Imagine how far off is at the distance of 500 feet?
