Revolt Systems’ engineers left the internet buzzed by successfully installing the Tesla Model S Plaid powertrain into a Cobra kit car, creating a lightweight electric monster with 1,060 hp.
The conversion uses a 100 kWh battery pack and three electric motors, making the car 1,450 lbs lighter than the original Model S Plaid. While the original Plaid reaches 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, this one is theoretically supposed to be even faster because of light-weight, in just 1.5 seconds.
To make it fit, the team had to extend the chassis, and the result is a car that now delivers 760 kW of power, pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle performance.
