A recent roll over that we performed. The front locking pins were disengaged causing the loaded container to become unstowed. The driver had pulled the unit around 250 mi without incident. Crews were able to disconnect the chassis from the tractor and reconnect to the container. The container was uprighted and towed away without incident. If you see carnage like this, give RBI a call today.

-- DISTRACTED DRIVING CATASTROPHE --

SLOW DOWN MOVE OVER

Yesterday 1-21-25 was like any other day for RBI. We had responded to a call for a disabled gasoline loaded fuel tanker on the interstate in a bad spot on a narrow shoulder with an on ramp to the right side. Upon arrival, we requested traffic control from the local authorities and parked our HD wrecker in front of the unit. We assessed the unit and found a major air leak inhibiting movement. We were in the process of stopping the leak while a second operator stood guard watching traffic. All of the sudden, the rear of the tanker was struck by a young girl in an SUV causing a major accident. The SUV ended up on the opposite side of the road with very heavy damage. The young lady driver was very shaken up but otherwise uninjured. I was the 1st person to reach her and open her door. As she climbed out of her SUV holding her phone, she claimed she had taken her eyes off the road for a few seconds to pickup her water bottle.

Those few seconds could have been the end to everyone on scene that day. Please don't drive distracted and SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER for emergency vehicles whenever you approach one. My life and loved ones lives depends on it

Bad day for this truck driver. He hit a barrier at a fuel stop, then attempted to drive 5 miles. Fully loaded refrigerated trailer made it to his destination after emergency road side assistance
