We get a lot of great questions about Poli Glow—from which product is right for your boat or RV to how often you should apply it and how to get the best results.
So, we’re answering some of our most frequently asked questions all in one place.
What is the correct dilution ratio for Poli Prep?
Dilute Poli Prep™ concentrate at 1 part Poli Prep: 3 parts water
Can Poli Glow® be used on painted aluminum surfaces, or is it only for fiberglass?
Our restoration system works equally well on fiberglass, gelcoat, clear coat, full body paint (FBP), plastic, and painted aluminum. Poli Glow is a water-based restorative coating that should be used on older boats or RVs that are fading or oxidized.
What causes fiberglass and gelcoat to turn chalky?
Fiberglass and gelcoat usually turn dull or chalky because of oxidation caused by long-term exposure to sunlight, UV rays, oxygen, moisture, salt, pollution, and other environmental conditions. As the surface breaks down, it can lose its original gloss, fade, and develop a white or chalk-like appearance.
How long does Poli Glow® last on a boat or RV?
With proper maintenance, Poli Glow states that its finish can last approximately five to six years before a full removal and reapplication cycle may be needed. Poli Glow recommends regular washing, inspection, and maintenance coats at least annually. Boats and RVs in hot, humid, or tropical climates may need more frequent maintenance to keep the finish looking its best.
