🌧️ RACE DAY UPDATE 🌧️

Unfortunately, Mother Nature has decided she’s taking home the trophy tonight. 🏆☔

Due to weather, tonight’s Wild Thing Karts event at Stafford Motor Speedway has been canceled.

We were ready to roll, but sometimes the weather has other plans. The #48 team will use the extra time in the garage to keep working and come back even stronger.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, supporters, and fans who continue to follow along with Daltyn’s racing journey.

🏁 Be sure to join us next week for the Tiger A Twin Features! It’s shaping up to be an exciting night of racing, and the #48 will be ready to get back on track. 💙🔥

A huge thank you to our sponsors and supporters:

💙 HAPPY FATHER’S DAY 💙

Today we want to give a special shoutout to all of the dads who make racing possible.

From the late nights in the garage, to the long drives to the track, to the endless wrenching, problem-solving, coaching, and support—none of this happens without you.

A very special Happy Father’s Day to Daltyn’s dad, who spends countless hours helping make the #48 faster, safer, and ready to compete every week. Your dedication, patience, and hard work do not go unnoticed.

We’d also like to recognize all of the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures throughout the Wild Thing Karts family who sacrifice their time and energy so these kids can chase their racing dreams.

Thank you for every wrench turned, every lesson taught, every trailer loaded, and every lap supported.

Enjoy your day—you’ve earned it. 💙🏁

Happy Father’s Day from Rivers Performance Motorsports and the #48 team!

🌩️ RACE 4 RECAP 🌩️

We made some big changes to the #48 this week and found some more speed, but a thunderstorm of craziness rolled into the Junior Outlaw division last night.

Daltyn started P2 in his heat race and immediately found himself dealing with some stormy conditions. An initial restart was needed when the pole sitter didn’t come up to speed until the last minute. On the restart, Daltyn felt the same thing happening and backed out of it to avoid getting caught in the weather himself.

Unfortunately, that caution created a storm cloud of karts behind him that quickly rolled through, shuffling the #48 toward the back of the field.

But just when things looked gloomy, Daltyn found a break in the clouds.

Digging deep, he worked his way back through the field and charged his way to a P7 finish.

That put the #48 starting P13 in the feature.

If the heat race was a thunderstorm, the feature was a full-blown weather event.

From the drop of the green flag, chaos clouds formed throughout the field, leaving damaged karts scattered across the speedway. Drivers did their best to navigate the ever-changing forecast, but the conditions just kept deteriorating.

With just under halfway to go, Daltyn exited Turn 3 and drove straight into a Turn 4 hailstorm of karts. He locked up the brakes trying to avoid the developing weather system, but unfortunately slid into the mess. The impact broke a heim joint and ended the night for both the #48 and another competitor.

Before our kart even made it back to the pits, another hurricane of chaos swept through the field and collected several more competitors.

By the time the checkered flag flew, only about 7 of the original 18 starters remained on the speedway.

When all the storm damage was assessed, Daltyn was officially scored P17.

While the finishing position wasn’t what we were hoping for, there were definitely positives to take away. The changes we made this week found speed, the kart was improving, and Daltyn continued to battle no matter what Mother Nature—or the racing gods—threw his way.

We’ll head back to the garage, repair the storm damage, and continue preparing for the next forecast. The Wild Thing Karts are off next week, but the #48 team will be back in action on Monday, June 22nd looking for sunnier skies and a stronger finish. ☀️🏁
