Got the seat in and interior panels in to see how it all fits before I clean and paint the inside.

Drove the 600 a little. It was missing and thought I had gotten bad piston rings. Well, I pulled the valve cover and the entire rocker assembly almost fell out. Broken spring washer. Installed new spring washers, torqued, set valves, new plugs and an oil change and flush and it started and ran like a new car...or as close to a new car as it can. 😂 Spend the extra and get good hardware kits. Not the cheap Empi made in China hardware

Received my side glass from my friend in Michigan. If you're needing any glass(side glass) and other parts engines, seats etc. message me and I'll point you in the right direction. Got it all installed with the new seals rebuilt latches and all that good stuff.

Got the side panels installed to check how they fit and turned out good. Also got the side door seals installed and the scraper seal in without busting the glass 😂

I used some very large basket weave material I found on the 600 panels.

Body back on. Now the shift box, shift linkage, brakes and install some glass.

Chassis welding is finished. Repositioned the clutch/accelerator clamp from the 600 more inward to accommodate the new VW controls. I'll pull the transaxle and tubes to finish painting the rear portion of the spring plates and transmission horns.

Started welding the 600 chassis and sat the body on to check the fitment. Lines up great and the wheelbase is about dead on so far. I'm happy with how the short axle, short axle tube VW set up with the transaxle worked as the tires won't be sticking out of the side of the body. ☺

Finally got the 600 chassis cut and mocked up with the VW rear suspension. Shouldn't be long now!!! ☺

The 600 went down the street today to get mocked up for the welding on the chassis. ☺ ☺

I got the transaxle sealed up with new bearings, seals and gaskets. New nose cone bushings and seal. New hardware to the spring plates. Now it's ready to be welded into the chassis and finally get closer to installing the engine.
