We had a great day of racing at CRC Raceway yesterday for points race #3 of our 12-weekend series! Season-high of 34 entries, great racing in all divisions. Thanks to Steve for doing a fantastic job running the show solo, with plenty of help from Thomas Neave and everyone else that chipped in. Everyone's contributions are so appreciated. PROGRAM NOTE!
We are back next week, same time and schedule for Saturday 10/24 - doors 9am, racing 1pm. However, we also want to invite everyone to do the "Rome-Syracuse Doubleheader" and attend Underground RC's Haunted Horsepower Classic on Sunday 10/25! We attached their flyer onto this post as well, scroll to the end of the photos.

It used to be a grand Walt's Hobby tradition to run Walt's first, and then head east to CRC. Let's do it again, this time in reverse order! A crew of us from the Utica-Rome area plan on heading out to support Underground's event on Sunday after we wrap up club racing here. Calvin and his crew are giving us a really nice place in Destiny USA to stretch our legs on a smooth, Snowbirds-sized oval. Let's all make it a point to show them some love for investing a bunch of time and capital to give us another great place to have fun. See everyone there!

Our second points race of the 2026-27 carpet oval season brought our best turnout thus far! Great racing all day, thanks everyone for coming out. Huge props to Steve and Nate for running a killer program, finishing before 6pm without making the day urgent or rushed. And as always, thank you to Frank Calandra and CRC Raceway & Hobbies - Rome, NY for the fantastic host venue.

CRC CLUB RACING RULES BULLETIN - October 2026

Hey all, just wanted to drop in and make some notes on topics we're working with for club racing at CRC Raceway & Hobbies - Rome, NY. It's no secret that it's been a struggle for Turn 1 RC to get their next shipment of motors in - as with most new ventures, it takes a while to get up and running smoothly. We'll all be fine, just facing some delays.

🚨🚨🚨 These rules DO NOT apply to our big show at Vernon Downs, the 6th Annual Mon-Tech Racing Todd Putnam Memorial Classic Presented by Rocket Tire Services - strictly for club racing.

➡️ GRACE PERIOD EXTENDED for Sportsman RTT motors. TOUR Sportsman RTT racers can continue to use their old Gravity red-endbell 21.5 motor ( ) for the full month of October 2026. Additional grace may be granted if totally necessary, but we are hopeful that motors will be back in supply very soon and available through all major distribution channels. GRC2010 is also applicable for SK Light Modified and the introductory 1/12 21.5 RTT class.

➡️ GRC2010 motor is ALLOWED in TOUR Stock FTC. It is a touch slower over a full run than the newly offered Turn 1 Stock motor (TORC5002), so it is a non-issue for it to run in the class. Thomas Neave ran quite well with an old motor - while not under ideal circumstances, we will not turn racers away that wish to run Stock FTC and only have the prior motor. This does NOT apply to the TOUR Pro Stock FTC class, as the prior Tekin SPEC-R2 17.5 is indeed a bit faster than the new Turn 1 Pro Stock motor. Pro Stock racers must compete with only the new motor ( ).

➡️TECH: Please expect some more routine pre-race tech inspection as we get into the points season and turnouts begin picking up. We will be spot checking items such as weight (body weight if applicable and total weight); battery voltage and temperature; blinky ESC's and correct blink pattern; ride height (and body height if applicable) among other things. We are not looking to catch someone red-handed. Rather, we are aiming to ensure compliance for safety of the racers and facility, and confirm to your fellow competitors that you are in legal spec and earn your on-track result. It's a great feeling to get a pat on the back from your peers knowing you earned a win fair and square!

Schedule for Saturday 10/10 in the same as usual: doors open at 9am, signups close at 12:45pm, racing begins at 1pm. See you there!

Points opener at CRC Raceway is history! Thanks for those that came out to support today - thinner crowd with nice weather (come on rain, do your thing) 😂 The crowds are coming though, we're looking forward to packing the house as the weather cools and days get shorter! Remember: you have 3 drops you can burn out of 12 weeks, so you don't need to fret about missing one week.
