Decades ago this was common practice. A sheet metal screw and a slide hammer.
It did hold up after all these years however we will weld up the holes and fix it to today’s standards.

Plugging away on the 66 build. We decided to replace the rear taillight panel. We had some rot we didn’t feel was cost effective to fix. Gapping our doors now. Passenger door to quarter gap is giving us some struggles but nonetheless we will kick its ass ! 💪

The car that started it all for me.
The rest is history.
Buddy of mine found it across the street in a one car garage with a dirt floor and the ceiling falling in. He bought it for $75. Car had 40k miles on it but was ate up pretty good. Chris my longtime friend and our technician, bought it and his dad painted it. I ended up buying it from Chris as a roller for $700 then bought a 70 Camaro that had a good 327 and th350 trans and figured out how to put it in and make it go. Mrs. Chevelle would sit there patiently waiting on me night after night as I worked on it. Those were the days. The only thing I regret is not keeping track of it after I sold it. The first one has the most meaning, just like Mrs. Chevelle.
