Here is the confession. The worry is never really the road. It is whether the spare back there actually fits, or is just close enough to make me feel okay about it.

I run a Ford Transit on long hauls. Sleep in the back of it more nights than I want to admit. And for a long time that 1am thought followed me down the road.

The answer I settled on was simple. A complete assembly made for 2015 to 2025 Ford Transit 150, 250, and 350 SRW vans. A STEELPRO MS597S 235/65R16C already mounted on a 16x6.5 silver steel wheel. 5 lug, 160 bolt pattern, TPMS included. No guessing on the shoulder about whether it seats right.

Two things matter to me on a van carrying a life's worth of gear. The reinforced 2 ply sidewall gives the load support I actually lean on. And the R in the size means radial, which sheds heat better than bias ply over long, fast miles.

That set is the Pirelli MT60RS, the same tire Indian fits to the Scout Bobber at the factory and the original equipment tire on the 2026 Scout Bobber.
