Differential Gear Setup
Patterns matter—especially when it comes to the way the ring and pinion mesh together inside a differential.

This is a good pattern. We always set the backlash toward the tighter side of the specification, then check everything again after about 500 miles of driving.

After the break-in period and final inspection, this differential will be ready to go back to work. 💪🔧

Getting the setup right from the start makes all the difference in durability and performance.

When we do a major repair, we don’t just fix what failed and send it down the road.

Whether it’s a Cummins or any other make and model, we look at the common failure points and upgrade what we can to help prevent the same problem from coming back.

Cummins front cover leaks are a good example. If we’re already in there doing a major repair, we’d rather do it right and address the issue properly instead of taking shortcuts.

The automotive world has changed a lot. These days, there are so many specialized tools and advanced systems that it can sometimes feel overwhelming.

But at the end of the day, when it comes to electrical diagnostics, I still believe the voltmeter and ohmmeter are two of the most important tools you can have in your toolbox.
