Let's be honest: nobody wakes up excited to visit an auto body shop. It usually means something went sideways.

But our Longview crew-specifically Greg and Taylor-have a habit of turning a stressful situation into a breath of fresh air.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching someone grow into their career and truly care about the people they help every single day — and that’s exactly who Erik is at Mackin’s Auto Body in Salem.
Here’s a look into a day with Erik.
Erik started with our team in administration before stepping into the role of estimator, and over the years he has become someone both our customers and coworkers genuinely rely on. He’s the type of person who shows up every day ready to help, ready to learn, and ready to do the right thing no matter the situation.
Collision repair is about so much more than fixing vehicles. Many customers come to us after stressful accidents, unsure of what comes next. Erik understands that. He takes the time to guide people through the process, answer questions, pay attention to the small details, and help make a difficult experience feel a little easier. That kind of care matters.
What stands out most about Erik is not just his work ethic, but the pride he takes in what he does. Whether it’s a small repair or a major collision project, he handles every vehicle and every customer with patience, professionalism, and consistency. He’s always looking to grow, learn new skills, and stay ahead in an industry that is constantly evolving.
Outside of work, Erik enjoys golfing and appreciates the close-knit culture at our Salem location — a team that genuinely supports one another both inside and outside the shop.

Memorial Day was never meant to be just a long weekend.
It is a time to pause, reflect, and remember that freedom has always come at a cost.

It is the sound of children laughing in a country protected by brave men and women.
It is the empty seat at the table that reminds a family someone never made it home.
It is folded flags, old photographs, dog tags, and memories carried for a lifetime.

Memorial Day is about honoring those who gave everything.
The ones who missed birthdays, anniversaries, future grandchildren, quiet mornings, and ordinary days so others could continue living theirs.

Somewhere this weekend, families are remembering loved ones who served and sacrificed.
And because of them, we get to enjoy the simple things many of us take for granted every day.

The freedom to gather with family.
To build businesses and communities.
To raise our children in peace.
To laugh with friends, enjoy a backyard barbecue, and wave the American flag proudly.
