The First of Our 11 Locations | Then & Now

Every great story has a beginning—and ours started right here.

In September 1945, Bob and Doris Mackin purchased a small service station in North Portland with a vision built on honesty, hard work, and putting people first.

Eighty years later, Mackin’s Auto Body has grown from that single location into 11 locations across Oregon and Southwest Washington, employing more than 125 dedicated team members.

A lot has changed over the years. We’ve invested in advanced collision repair technologies, ongoing training, and industry-leading repair processes to provide safe, high-quality repairs. But the values that started it all remain the same: quality, integrity, genuine relationships, and giving back to the communities we proudly serve.

“Nobody wants to end up having to go to a body shop…”
Kevin couldn’t have said it better.
An accident is never part of the plan, but making the repair process as stress-free as possible is.
After repairing Kevin’s Tesla Model Y, he shared: “I cannot recommend Mackin’s enough.”
He also gave a special shoutout to Chris for keeping him informed throughout the repair process and returning his vehicle looking like it did the day he bought it.
