1973 Datsun 240z vs 1971 Datsun 240z.

The 1973 Datsun 240z got a fresh set of Rota 16x7” wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 225/50 tire, while the 1971 Safari Gold inherited the 15x7” set of Panasports sitting on 205/50 Toyo R888R, and got a new distributor. 🤟

On offer today is a 1971 Ford Mustang Convertible in Triple black with 45,340 miles.

It was repainted in jet-black around 3 years ago. An 8.5/10. Very straight, clean, minimal imperfections. No welding, no rust.

It's powered by a 351 Windsor V8 5.8 Liter engine mated to a 3-speed Automatic transmission. Still under warranty.

4-barrel Holley 600 carburetor with twin air scoops. Twin electric radiator fans, front oil cooler fan, metal overfill reservoir. It runs cool, the air-conditioning blows cold. It has black Magnum 500 wheels and BF Goodridge white raised letter tires, trunk wing, front lower sport valance. The convertible top is electric, and there is a convertible boot that goes over for a very sleek look.

It runs, drives well. The steering box, upper, lower control arms, all front and rear suspension bushings, shocks, coils, leaf springs replaced. New rotors, new pads. It drives super straight, and brakes on a dime.

The exhaust sounds very, very good! Lumpy.

Comes with a Clean Montana title, receipts for $18,000+ worth of parts, maintenance done in the past 3 years.

Exterior finished in Champagne Metallic color (473), while the interior Leather is dark brown (273). Near immaculate condition. 9/10.

Interior rubbers, Leather in very good to excellent condition. 9/10.

Runs, and drives superb. 89,990 original miles.

Steering box true, spot on. Front end was gone through with all new bushings. Tracks absolutely perfect.

Everything works including the electric windows, air conditioning, heater, radio, cruise control, courtesy lights, antenna. A very, very nice example.

History: First record shows a sale in Michigan in 1989, followed by a move to Arizona state in 1998 at which point it was offered at a Barret Jackson auction in Las Vegas, Nevada and sold for just little over $21,000 in 2017. This car has absolutely no rust. It has always been garaged, and it clearly shows. The undercarriage has all the undercoating in perfect condition. Zero salt or corrosion evidence below, and inside the engine bay.

Clean California title, original Blaupunkt radio in box, manual, service booklet, 3 keys, 2 hooks for the soft top, misc. maintenance, receipt, clean Carfax / Carchex documenting, verifying mileage.

The 1986 Porsche 944 found its new home today. In the process we discovered this little gem (The Stable, San Luis Obispo, CA) who did a pre purchase inspection for the buyer. What a cozy little shop.
