Have to say that it is great to have a reliable mechanic like Brandon Taylor, even from over 1100 miles away! Grace called in a little panic because a Richmond mechanic told her the head gasket was leaking on our dear old Camry. Thinking it was the death knell (after all, this car has been through 3 children learning to drive, uncounted road trips to WI and beyond, and has hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles on it) I suggested she take it "home" to Chandler's and have them take a good look.
Long story short - Brandon found no major issues and changed the oil! The Camry gets a new lease on life! Thank you! We know it can't last forever but we hope to have it up and running until Grace completes her Master's degree. She babies it with oil changes and tries not to hit anything with it (!!!!) and I suspect she may be bringing it back to Brandon from time to time for a good check-up now.

Grace called with what I thought was the death knell for our dear old Camry. She gets the oil changed religiously in Richmond, but they told her this time the head gasket was leaking. She was upset. I said, well, maybe it's time to let it go. After all, it's been through 3 kids learning to drive, numerous long distance trips to WI (as recently as 2016 when Kati and Grace made an exciting road trip out here)and beyond, and has hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles on it. I suggested she take it "home" to Middlesex and work out a ride with dad, and ask Chandler's take a good look at it.
Long story short - Brandon looked it over, found nothing major, and changed the oil. Good to go! Thanks Brandon for giving the car another lease on life. Grace will be bringing it back to you for your opinion from time to time, and while we know it won't last forever, we hope it will make it through her finishing her Master's degree!
