We got the call for a vehicle that had gone behind the guardrail. Instead of causing more damage by dragging it back over, we brought out the rotator and safely lifted the entire car up and over the guardrail before loading it onto the truck.

SLOW DOWN.

We put these "ACCIDENT AHEAD" signs out when we're working highway crashes and recoveries. They're there because people are on foot, heavy equipment is operating, and sometimes a lane is closed.

Even with these signs out, we still have drivers flying by at 60+ mph just a few feet away from our crews.

This isn't just another road sign—it's a warning that lives are on the line.

Please slow down, move over if you can, and give first responders, tow operators, and highway workers the space they need to make it home safely.

A few extra seconds of your time could save someone's life.

NO TOWING AND RECOVERY COMPANY
SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE A FINANCIAL LOST BECAUSE OF A TRUCKING COMPANY OR CARS THAT DON’T HAVE INSURANCE OR THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF INSURANCE COVERAGE. OR END UP HAVEING WRECKED TRUCKS, CARS AND TRAILERS JUST SITTING ON THEIR YARD ... LOSS 📉 REVENUE HURTS.

Make Tow & Recovery Operations to clear highways covered under the Public Liability and Property Damage (PLPD) to cover the cost of clearing and recovery as the state does to recoup their costs!

Heavy-duty towing and recovery companies should not be expected to subsidize highway recovery operations because a motor carrier chose to operate without adequate insurance or because a broker tendered freight to an inadequately insured carrier.

When a commercial vehicle overturns, catches fire, loses its load, or causes a major roadway incident, recovery companies are expected to respond immediately, often at all hours, to protect the motoring public, reopen highways, and mitigate environmental hazards.

To accomplish this, we deploy specialized equipment such as rotators, excavators, skid steers, roll-off dumpsters, telehandlers, and trained labor crews.

These resources must often be paid for immediately, regardless of whether the responsible carrier has sufficient insurance.

Maintenance costs, equipment repairs, employee wages, fuel, chains, straps, and truck breakdowns are legitimate costs of doing business. Absorbing tens of thousands of dollars in unreimbursed recovery expenses because a carrier was uninsured or underinsured is not.

There should be greater accountability throughout the transportation industry. Brokers and shippers who tender freight should verify that carriers maintain adequate liability, cargo, and recovery-related insurance before loads are awarded.

Likewise, minimum insurance requirements should better reflect the actual costs associated with modern heavy-duty recovery operations.

No business should be forced to choose between clearing a highway for public safety and risking a significant financial loss because another party failed to carry adequate insurance.

Recovery companies provide an essential public safety service, and the financial responsibility for those services should remain with the parties whose operations created the need, not with the company responding to the emergency.

Highways are reopened because recovery companies answer the call. Those companies should be paid fairly and in full for the services they provide.

Not every heavy-duty tow is as simple as hooking and hauling.

Today we responded to a customer near the St. Louis area after their specialized trailer was rear-ended, causing extensive damage to the rear of the unit.

To get the customer back on the road and keep their schedule on track, our heavy-duty team had to think outside the box. We used a Sawzall to safely remove the destroyed rear section so the trailer could be transported without causing additional damage.

From there, we made the trip from the St. Louis area all the way to Hodgkins, Illinois, delivering their equipment on time.

When the job gets complicated, experience and the right equipment make all the difference.

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the parade today and showed their support. Seeing all the smiles, waves, and families along the route is what it's all about.

We're proud that Feldkamp's Towing & Recovery has been part of this community for so many years. Being able to participate in events like this reminds us why we do what we do. We're grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this amazing community—both on holidays and every other day of the year.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

This picture was taken 10 years ago, but what it represents never gets old.

The Fourth of July is more than fireworks, cookouts, and a day off. It's a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy every day were earned through the courage and sacrifice of those who came before us.

Too often, we take for granted the simple things—waking up in a free country, providing for our families, building a business, speaking our minds, and chasing our dreams. Those freedoms didn't come free, and they continue to be protected by the brave men and women who serve our country.

Today, as you celebrate with family and friends, take a moment to remember those who fought for our independence and everyone who has defended it since.
