Yes, our leather dashes cost more than the molded-over-seat-material style dashboards and injection modled dashes and there’s a reason.
We start with genuine, full-grain automotive leather, dyed completely through the hide, not thin vinyl, not half dyed, not molded seat material, real leather chosen personally to handle the heat, curves, and abuse of a classic vehicle interior. If it can put up with our abuse it can put up with yours.
Then we take your original dash or a doner and go to work.
We rebuild, reshape, and rework the original foam, grinding cutting and shaping, bringing those old, tired contours back to life and correcting the imperfections that decades of use leave behind.
And then the fun really starts.
After a LOT of prep work, we install one single, continuous piece of leather over the entire dash. We heat the leather until it’s ready to cooperate, then we get to stretching, gluing, shaping, pulling, finessing every curve, edge, vent, opening, and transition by hand.
There are no shortcuts.
We don’t just throw a cover over the old dash and call it good. We’re rebuilding the dash so when it’s finished, it looks like something Toyota could have put in there from the factory only better.
Why does it cost more?
Because we actually care about what comes out of our shop.
We love classic Land Cruisers. We love leather. We love making old interiors look incredible. And we genuinely enjoy the process of taking something tired and beat-up and turning it into something you’re proud to have in your truck.
That extra time, craftsmanship, and care is what you’re paying for.
No short cuts. No cheap molded material. No “good enough.”
Just premium full-grain leather, high temp convertible top adhesive, a properly rebuilt dash, and a whole lot of love for what we do.
