Customers tell us what they are worried about all day long.

Price. Payment. Trade. Out-the-door.

Too often, we treat those concerns like objections and either dodge them or try to solve the entire deal remotely.

This week’s Saturday Spark: Michael wants you listening for what is really underneath the question, building confidence around how that concern gets solved in the showroom, and earning the visit.

Because the goal is not to win the whole deal over the phone, internet or text.

The goal is to make the customer trust you enough to come see you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKz1rsX5Iko

The buying cycle is longer. Customers are moving more slowly. That does not mean they are gone.

This week’s Saturday Spark is about the August and September leads still sitting in your CRM and why your team cannot run past customers who are still in the buying process.

A simple text can reopen the conversation:
“I have a couple of other people looking at that CR-V you were interested in. Do you still want me to hold it for you?”

That is the goal. Not another touch. Not another completed task. A response.
You have 90 days and 13 Saturdays left in 2026. There is a lot of unfinished business sitting in your CRM.

Go give them a reason to respond. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S13XFq73vc

The leads are real. The customers are shopping. And they are buying.
This week’s Saturday Spark was inspired by a message Mike Conley shared at Digital Dealer that lines up exactly with what we have taught for years: most stores do not have a lead problem. They have a conversation problem, and that is why they have a conversion problem.
As we head into the final Saturday of September, Michael breaks down two simple ways your team can stand out, earn more appointments, and turn existing lead traffic into showroom traffic.
Because marketing got them to raise their hand.
Now it is our job to get them through the front door. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfbbcQtUxD8

Missed gross. Preventable turnover. Training that didn't stick because the manager didn't reinforce it.

These aren't random. They're symptoms of a management system that hasn't been built yet.

Management by Fire builds it. Dallas. October 14–16.

Anybody can give a customer a price.

The real skill shows up in what happens next.

This week’s Saturday Spark is about handling the price question with confidence, reinforcing that your dealership is fully transparent with no hidden fees, and then keeping control of the conversation.

Answer the question. Ask the next question.Hook the trade.Find the why. Earn the visit. Because the customer already has the number.

The price question is the test of whether your team knows how to turn information into trust. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeIGm-XqYIw

🥉Congratulations Trey Steensma from Kia Fort Wayne, on achieving 3rd Place in this year's Covideo Challenge!

Trey kept it simple and knew what to say, with a Telluride behind him and a customer in mind. No production crew, no fancy setup, just a man who knows the product thoroughly, walking the customer through every detail.

That's the whole point of a personalized video. And Trey nailed it.

Congratulations, Trey. Well deserved!

🥈 Congratulations Juan Jarquin from Porsche West Broward, on achieving 2nd Place in this year's Covideo Challenge!

Juan didn't overthink it. He showed up in his element: on the lot (with great looking hair), walking a customer through a Taycan like he'd done it a hundred times. Because he has. And it shows.

That's what a great personalized video looks like. Not a script. Not a setup. Just a knowledgeable salesperson making a customer feel like the car was already picked out for them.

Congratulations, Juan. Well deserved!

🏆 Congratulations Jeremy from Fred Martin Superstore, on achieving 1st Place in this year's Covideo Challenge!

A handwritten sign. A custom eagle-wrap Rubicon. A stack of cash thrown in front of the camera. And a direct number at the end.

Jeremy didn't just make a video. He made Michael Renaud feel like that Jeep had been waiting for him.

This challenge is about getting the customer to show up. And we have zero doubt this one worked.

Congratulations, Jeremy. This is what a champion looks like!

The desk is where it all happens: deals get made, gross gets protected, managers either add value or get in the way.

MBF teaches managers how to run a real desk. Not just sit at one.

Scripts and word tracks matter. They give your team language, structure and confidence. But the real skill is knowing what to do when the customer does not follow the script.

This week’s Saturday Spark is about teaching your team to listen, think, adapt and stay in control of the conversation without turning control into pressure.

Because control is confidence.

And curiosity is still a salesperson’s greatest weapon.

The best salespeople do not just know what to say. They know what to ask next. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbCztmpVZaY
