Ms Indian

Ms Indian Indian Motorcycle Enthusiast. I created this page after being encouraged by many people who I have come to know thru my line of business. Indian.

I coined the phrase "Ride Often; Ride Safely" and was given the nick-name "Ms Indian" by the principal of IMC NNJ. The name stuck and the phrase is catchy! So here by popular demand, I humbly and enthusiastically give you my page, Ms. I hope you enjoy this page and I encourage you to send me your motorcycle related pictures and stories to be reviewed and considered for publication on my page. Indian Motorcycle is announcing today that it will become a standalone company, following the sale of a majority stake by Polaris to Carolwood LP. This move marks a powerful evolution for America’s first motorcycle brand.

Since 2011, Polaris has proudly stewarded Indian Motorcycle’s resurgence, reviving a legendary name and pushing boundaries in design, performance, and innovation. With this transition, Indian Motorcycle is now poised to accelerate its growth with a sharper focus and renewed independence.

Indian Motorcycle will continue to operate as a part of Polaris until the deal is complete, which is expected to occur in early 2026. At that time, approximately 900 employees will transition to employment as a part of the new Indian Motorcycle Company. Additionally, the manufacturing sites in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Monticello, Minnesota will transition to the new standalone motorcycle company as a part of the deal, as well the industrial design and technology center in Burgdorf, Switzerland.

Indian Motorcycle dealers and customers can rest assured that service to them will remain as diligent as it has to date, and customer warranties will not be affected during or following this transition. Polaris is confident in Indian Motorcycle’s future success and will maintain a small equity position in the new, standalone Indian Motorcycle Company after the deal is final.

Wow! I'm sad over this announcement and frankly, still trying to process it.

Personally, I felt a shift (no pun intended) in the targeted audience.... it seemed like they going after a crowd of riders who purchase, but don't necessarily have that Indian nostalgia in their blood (like me).

From a business perspective, well.....rhat remains to get seen. I do hope they maintain the iconic logo, unique fender style, headdress, and overall performance.

My days at IMC were a long time ago. God speed. Ride often, ride safe.

Founded in 1901, Indian Motorcycle is an American brand of motorcycles manufactured in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Designed to embody Indian Motorcycles reputation for innovation, performance and style without sacrificing the technology of today.

58 years ago, Burt Munro made history. At age 68, he set a world record on his self-modified 1920 Indian Scout, which was 47 years old at the time, reaching an average speed of 183.586 mph in the Flying One Mile Class S-A 1000cc.

✅ After a recalculation, this was officially corrected to 184.087 mph – a record that still stands today 🔥
