Last week we helped transform Brian Hammermeisters Camaro into a different kind of animal.
Earlier this year Brian suffered a catastrophic parts failure in his engine, so we set out to build him a better bullet. During that process the decision was made to put a supercharger on top.
When that decision was made we knew the car was going to need some updates to make sure it was ready to accept this new found horsepower.

New Bill Mitchell Products 10.2 billet cap Big Block Chevy block was machined to accept the new Molnar 4.5" crankshaft, Molnar Pwr Adr + rods, JE Pistons with upgraded Tool Steel wrist pins, his exisiting AFR 385 heads were freshened up and put on top.

We installed a complete MSD grid system with new coil, a new rear gear, re-did the motorplate tabs and motorplate itself, repaired the fuel tank mount, updated some wiring, and plumbed the car with the new combination in it.
Our friends at Alky Digger set us up with a complete Hi-Helix 3 lobe TBS 250 supercharger kit, with a new APD 1750 dominator carb and matching fuel pump/regulator combo.
We also installed one of our Coan torque converters to help make sure we could get the power to the ground.

We finished the car up and got it in the trailer at about 10:30 Saturday morning, Brian hurried to the track and got unloaded and made it to the lanes for his first run of the day.
With a very conservative timing curve in it, the car made it to the 1/8th under power with no issues and ran 5.58@128.

Quick check of the car, ran the valves, and we were ready for his second run.
There was a bit of a driver malfunction on this run, but Brian would make up for it on his 3rd and final run.

We knew the air was coming to us, and the track was going to be the best it had been all day. We aimed to go a low 1.20 60', and 8.2X was the goal for this run.

Last pass of the day was Brian's personal best ET and MPH, with plenty left in the tank.

A couple of bad ass Legend Racing powered and FTR tuned 3rd gens sealed the deal last night and ended up in the winners circle.
Justin Genske and family had a great outing during one of the largest fields recently during the Great Lakes Dragaway Summit Super Series.
Justin had a small issue 1st round and lost, bought back and ran the table to win the Top class and win the combo final! Justin’s car features one of our bracket eliminator engine packages with a Blower Shop supercharger.

Jonathon Gascon battled a tough field at Byron Dragway during the MKE River Redemption race. Jon qualified 8th, was killer on the tree all day, and has a slew of personal bests on his way to the winners circle.
Jon’s car has one if our 427 LS Eliminator engines with a Work Turbochargers 98mm turbo.

Congrats to these two, and all the other Legend Racing customers this weekend.

We would like to take a look inside the details of this engine combination today from Jim Pydos 91 Camaro.
This engine is based off a Dart Big M iron 9.8 deck, 4.600 bore block with billet main caps and .904 lifter bores.
Inside it houses a Callies Magnum 4.125 stroke crankshaft, MGP aluminum rods with their L19 bolt upgrade, and a set of custom Diamond pistons built to our specs.
A Jesel belt drive is used to turn our custom ground Bullet cam, we use Isky lifters and Trend pushrods with T&D rocker arms that feature a steel exhaust rocker arm to help handle increased cylinder pressure on this boosted application.
The heads are off the shelf AFR 385 heads that have been top fuel hooped, and chamber softened.
This engine is topped off with a SV 565 manifold that has been EFI converted by our friends at 417 Motorsports, as well as utilizing one of their custom elbows.

This package with a pair of budget friendly turbos has ran 175mph at 3,350lbs with plenty of room to grow.
