We had a pretty cool visitor at Denton Hill this week — Jim Cheney from Uncovering PA and Tracy lambert park complex manager dcnr.
Jim has spent years traveling Pennsylvania, visiting all 67 counties and more than 1,300 places along the way. But this wasn’t his first trip to Denton Hill.
Back in 2023, Jim visited the old ski area and wrote about it for Uncovering PA. At the time, the mountain had been quiet for years and there were still a lot of questions about what the future of Denton Hill would look like.
So it was especially nice to have him back three years later.
This time around, Jim got to see what’s happening at the park today, check out some of the changes and hear about what’s still to come.
And we couldn’t have him visit Denton Go without getting him out on the trails. We sent him out in one of our UTVs for a ride to Lyman Run State Park so he could experience another side of what this area has to offer.
When someone has traveled as much of Pennsylvania as Jim has, it means a little something to have him come back to Denton Hill and see how far things have come.
Thanks for making the trip back, Jim. We’re glad you got to see the mountain with a little more life in it this time around — and we’re just getting started.
