Found this on the table after checkout.

That’s the whole itinerary. That’s all it ever needs to be.

October has three different skies this year, and the next few weeks give you a front-row seat to each one.

The dark week comes first. The new moon leaves the sky its darkest of the month, and if you give your eyes twenty minutes away from screens, the faint stars fill in slowly over the sandbar.

Then the Orionids, little pieces of Halley’s Comet burning up as they cross the sky. Set an alarm for the hours before dawn, bring a blanket and a thermos, and count the streaks.

Last comes the Hunter’s Moon, rising after dark and bright enough to light the creek late into the night.

One weekend just opened: Halloween on Magee’s Creek. 🎃

Friday Oct 30 to Sunday Nov 1. Launch from the East Lexie bridge right outside the cabin, float six miles of sandbars and falling leaves, and be back at the fire pit before dark. Pumpkins on the porch, ghost stories after, and the clocks fall back Sunday for an extra hour of coffee by the creek.

Rent boats and a shuttle from Canoe & Trail Outpost, our preferred outfitter, or bring your own kayak or canoe and DM us for a DIY float plan.

The Fleetwood is black for a reason — so the landscape wins. From the creek, the cabin doesn’t compete with the view. It disappears into it. Even the roofline was drawn to sit under the canopy, never above it. We didn’t build something meant to be admired. We built something meant to be missed.
