We're finally going live with our FD radiator setup.
We're happy with the testing and feedback to date... Pre-launch offers were sent to everyone who’d contacted us in advance and all such orders have been fulfilled, so this is round 2 of the offering.
So what are the advantages of this setup?
• Full isolation. The radiator uses 6 points of isolation: both the frame rails and at the four corners of the radiator itself. That should be a huge deal for longevity.
• Larger core. This radiator is ~1.5" taller than Samberg and we fit that by tucking the radiator up behind the filter so as to not lose ground clearance. It's physically the largest core that we could package. Radiators use high end cores and the end result is a Ronin exclusive, made specifically for this application and individually pressure checked.
• Proper shroud: by fighting for the extra height in the radiator itself, we're able to use an off-the-shelf dual fan from Spal that incorporates 12 rubber flapper valves giving you notably better airflow at speed than the fan by itself. We also have bulb seal edge trim included so the ducting fully seals to the face of the radiator
• Fill points are located all the way at the top of the radiator (wasn't the case for a side mount fill point by others). We also have a proper drain for ease of flushing.
• This includes a purpose-built surge tank rather than a retrofitted universal version. It fits better and it has the exact b**gs that you need for fill, overflow, and steam tube connection. Plus it's some sweet TIG welded bling right on top of your motor.
• We added some trick details to take the aesthetics over the top. The filter hold downs are billet. The hole for the latch is notably smaller. Heck, even the front shroud has rolled edges rather than raw cuts.
• The filter inlet ducting is going to be a shaped silicon piece exclusive to Ronin as this helps us improve hood clearance and the b**g for an LS7 card style MAF will be built in. This is coming, and is not yet included as we launch.
What do you get?
• Ronin radiator plus the 5 piece shroud (two part upper, one part lower, sides) and all mounting hardware/isolators. Shroud has mounting provisions for an AC condensor (not included but we can get you specs). Everything bolts together with button head allen screws for a super tidy presentation.
• Ronin's surge tank w/ 16 psi radiator cap plus fittings and hoses to serve as your fill point as well as connections to the factory overflow tank.
• A Spal 30102052 Fan (https://www.spalusa.com/products/fans/11/2va06-ap70-3-ll-37a-12-dual-11-7-p-3-12v-30102052) which flows 2720 CFM. You'll need to handle fan wiring.
• A K&N RP-5135 filter with carbon fiber caps. (https://www.knfilters.com/rp-5135-universal-air-filter-carbon-fiber-top-and-base)
• With the exception of radiator hose and the intake coupler that are not yet available, this is intended to be 100% complete. I may need another trip back to SoCal to work on the silicon bits.
Cost? Our round 2 - social media offering will be as follows:
• If you provide your own fan and filter it will be $1399
• Everything currently available version will be $2069
Retail pricing is planned to be $2300 complete, but that would include silicon parts. Shipping should run $105 to the 48 states. This is truly intended as a “best of breed offering.” As usual, we’re only making the parts we’d want to run ourselves.
We’re working on a new website so for now this will be available by direct request only. Please reach out if interested at [email protected].
Good success in your projects and thanks for letting Ronin be part of the effort. A few pictures follow.
