Today must be Diagnostic Saturday. We had a 2018 Toyota Highlander come in with a check engine light and an ABS fault which ended up being a low voltage issue that was solved. In addition a 2012 Mazda 3 was in for some routine maintenance and a EVAP small leak trouble code. We were able to pinpoint the leak using the smoke machine and notify the customer exactly what the issue was.

This was a unique one. There were multiple ahops that declined work on this vehicle. We had a customer with a 12 nissan maxima come with an intermittent brake light and battery light illumination. The diagnosis was a simple alternator. Although it is a very labor intensive job on these cars, simple became a nightmare very quickly. After replacing alternator it was found to not charge at all! This was with a NISSAN remanufactured part . This led to deeper diagnosis and further digging to find that the alternator supplied by the customer “NEW”IN BOX was defective. With out proper diagnostic I’m positive that examples like this find themselves bouncing from shop to shop. We were able to get a new replacement alternator in and installed and repair a few other issues with this car to get him on the road again. Lesson learned:
1: not all parts are good out of the box.
2:Be careful where you get your parts from.

This Mercedes E350 came in with an intermittent no start issue. After proper diagnostics the problem was able to be duplicated and fuel pump module assembly was replaced and this car is back on the road. These kinds of issues are easy for someone to start throwing parts at. Especially with a no start condition on a Merc. But we have the technology and the know how!

Customers return to Nate’s Auto for a fair price and good service. Although still an expensive part. We were able to get this customer back on the road after an alternator failure on a BMW F30. This saved them a super expensive trip to the dealer and I’m glad we could help.
