Rain has a strange little enchantment to it 🌧️🍀
Part of it is ancient wiring. For most of human history, rain meant survival. Crops grew. Rivers filled. Animals returned. A storm rolling in could literally mean “we get to keep living.” Somewhere deep in the basement of the human brain, rain still whispers: abundance is coming.
There’s also the rarity factor. Sunshine becomes wallpaper if it’s constant. Rain interrupts the script. The air changes texture. Streets glow like wet paint. People slow down. The world suddenly feels cinematic, like the universe switched from “office fluorescent” to “indie film with a piano soundtrack.”
And psychologically, rain gives permission:
permission to stay in
permission to rest
permission to reset
permission to hope things are being washed clean
That’s why people talk about “good luck rain” at weddings, road trips, new homes, even car sales lots. Rain feels like movement. Stagnant weather does nothing. Rain arrives. It changes things.
