Think cyclists are required to ride single file at all times? 🚴🏻

Not necessarily.

However, when riding side by side, they must not impede the normal and reasonable flow of traffic and must remain within a single lane. Sometimes the most frustrating interactions on the road start with a misunderstanding of what's actually allowed.

On July 27th in Tulsa, Kenneth Young was traveling in his electric wheelchair when he was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash.

The story quickly spread across Tulsa, not just because of what happened, but because of how senseless it felt. A man was going about his day, and in an instant, his life was gone.
In the days that followed, community members shared messages of grief, frustration, and support. Many reflected on the responsibility that comes with getting behind the wheel and how recklessness can have lasting consequences for families, friends, and entire communities.

We've highlighted a few of those voices and included information for those who would like to support Kenneth's family.

We hate to be that person, but... there was a perfectly good crosswalk right there. 😅

Crosswalks help make pedestrians more visible and predictable to drivers, reducing the risk of crashes. When possible, use marked crossings and help everyone get where they're going safely.

Riders from across Oklahoma will soon be making their way through historic Black towns as part of the Black Towns of Oklahoma Bike Tour.
