A little problem solving got this hydraulic pump back in business.

A customer brought my tilt trailer back because the deck wouldn’t lower. After digging into it, I found a few things going on: a leaking valve, debris inside the valve and a loose, broken wire at the solenoid. What first looked like one problem turned out to be several.

I replaced the solenoid stem valve, fixed the leak and rewired the solenoid connection. Now she’s back up and running.

It isn’t having the cheapest prices.

It’s setting clear expectations.

One of the first questions I ask every customer is, “What are you using the trailer for?”

If they’re tearing off a roof, doing demolition, or making trips to the dump, I let them know there’s a much higher chance of picking up nails or damaging a tire.

I’d rather have that conversation before the rental than an argument after the rental.

Clear communication prevents misunderstandings, protects the equipment, and creates a better experience for everyone.

I’ve learned after years in this business that setting the right expectations is one of the best forms of customer service.

Junk removal Guys !!

Cleaning out 1½ storage shipping containers packed FULL of heavy office furniture—desks, entertainment centers, filing cabinets… all the fun stuff. 😂

I brought my 24-foot utility trailer instead of the dump trailer because this job was about 45 minutes from home, and I didn’t want to make multiple trips.

The gamble paid off. We got just about EVERYTHING on one load.

The downside? No dump trailer means everything has to come back off. 😅 Thankfully, I brought the E26 excavator, which made dealing with the heavy stuff a whole lot easier.

Always fun seeing one of our trailers out in the community! Our 20-foot heavy-duty utility trailer carried the basketball team through the town parade. We love seeing the community come together, supporting the team, and having a great time!

Does the Harbor Freight Warranty Really Work?

I’mq at Harbor Freight returning a winch I bought about six to eight months ago. The handle used to engage it broke, so it won’t work properly.

While I’m here, let’s find out whether the extended warranty is worth the money. The two-year warranty costs about $150, and the one-year option is only $10–$15 less. They said I can buy another warranty with the replacement winch. I also called to confirm that I don’t need to bring the receipt because the purchase is in their system.

We’ll see how the return goes—and whether that warranty was worth it.
