Dave Acker's interest in fast cars started in high school and on the streets of Philadelphia where fast muscle cars would hang out and race on abandoned streets and highways. He started street racing

and working on cars in the late 1980's. In the early 1990's, Dave was employed at a local speed shop. Then, in 1995 Dave Acker and partner Joe Warner opened up A&W Performance in Levittown. A&W has been known for building some of the fastest, most baddest cars around. Dave's '69 Camaro was featured in Super Chevy (magazine) and Popular Hot Racing (magazine) and was one of the fastest street legal cars in the northeast. His Toyota Celica was also campaigned in the NSCA Outlaw Street Class and in the Orlando World Street Nationals. Dave is also known for nitrous oxide being the power adder of choice – having it on virtually everything which he owned (Motorcycles, ATV's, Cars, and even Lawn Mowers) which explains his nickname "MR. Since then, Dave has strived to build engines, complete race cars from street to pro mod, develop his own nitrous plate systems and products, and keep a great customer base for the past 16 years. If you are in the Philadelphia, PA area you should stop by the shop and let Dave or one of his staff take you on a tour of the shop or look over your current engine, chassis, or nitrous combo to get the most out of it. A&W Performance specializes in high performance race engine building, NOS systems and installs, chassis and roll bars, trackside tuning/consulting, and machine shop services.
