Erratic signal from the right front wheel speed sensor was causing random responses from the antilock brake system. Though replacing the sensor will correct this, an inspection found that the front hub bearings are worn (182000 miles on them), and the new bearing assemblies include sensors, so new front hubs were installed and hit two birds with one stone.

People will often start replacing the “likely” failed parts with sub-par store brands when their car has a problem, because they’re afraid of high costs or being taken advantage of by a shop.

This Ford developed a no crank/no start condition, so the owner purchased and installed a starter assembly from an auto parts store. The condition was still present. It was then towed to me for diagnostics, where through my circuit tests I determined that the key transceiver for the anti theft system had failed and can’t send the key code to the engine computer, therefore the computer would not permit engine starting. Replaced the transceiver and it fired right up, but the starter assembly the customer installed was a waste of money and likely inferior in quality to the perfectly operational starter that was on the car.

Have Tech-Op handle your diagnostics and repairs without wasting money. My low overhead means I beat most shops prices, and my experience and commitment to quality repair parts means your vehicle gets fixed correctly.

This ‘95 Pathfinder needed some love. Tension strut bushings and front wheel bearings. The bushings were so far gone that the metal sleeves were rubbing away against the frame, plus everything was rusted together. Heated the sleeves with a brazing torch and beat them out with a hammer, then the entire tension strut was cleaned on a wire wheel and the threads chased, before reinstalling with a new bushing kit. To think that east coast techs are doing this kind of stuff on a daily basis.

The wheel bearings had a lot of slop, so the 4WD hubs and wheel hubs were removed, everything cleaned and greased and reinstalled with new bearings. Fun stuff!

This ‘00 Camry (built in ‘99) still had it’s factory alternator. Finally on the fritz, a 20-year-old alternator has to be honored with a top-shelf replacement. Denso is the manufacturer of the factory alternator, so they are the obvious choice.
