I tell everyone openly 2009 or older ,period full stop. The buy back on cars was a racket that was brought by the Obama administration, to make the industry "greener " and more "earth friendly " put people into cars they couldn't afford and what I call now, disposable cars. I myself have owned a "brand new" off the lot car a 2023 Dodge Journey ,I'd load the guy's up to go and there wasn't even enough pick-me-up to get on the highway. The plastic garbage and add ons, we are making cars to comfortable! Driving was a skill ,and now it's the machines/computer's job. I'll keep my controls ,and if I can fix it, I can keep it.

P.s. nothing will be as cheap as it is today, so if you own it and want to keep it, buy it before you need it.

I bet me and my dad walked around this car for a solid 10 mins , just talking, enjoying, being present with each other. I wouldn't trade one second of it for anything. I miss him a lot. Record your memories ,regardless how silly or meaningless they might seem, one day it might be all that you have left to remember.
