Job Description
EXPERIENCED LEVEL A OR B ONLY PLEASE: The Automotive Technician services and repairs vehicles as assigned by management following all established standards and procedures. In addition, he or she may be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer. We deliver the highest quality service while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, some post-secondary automotive training, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, and certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). An unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, a strong technical performance record, and strong physical dexterity and stamina to get the job done are required. Candidates must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world-class customer service. Level A & B mechanics must have their own tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
· Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing.
· Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs.
· Repair’s automobiles and light trucks as assigned.
· Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs.
· Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
· Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions.
· Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
· Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience
· One year of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred.
· ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certification)
· Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
· Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
· Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles.
· Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
· Highly professional and dependable
· Safety and customer service oriented
· Basic computer and internet skills
· Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
$1000 Signing Bonus. The bonus will be awarded when the individual has completed at least 10 weeks of work with employer. This bonus will be paid by the employer.
$2000 Return-to-Work Bonus. In order to qualify for the State of Arizona Return-to-Work bonus, an individual must have already filed for unemployment benefits prior to May 13, 2021. Arizonans filing for unemployment benefits after May 13 will not be eligible for Return-to-Work bonus. The individual must also make $25 per hour or less, equivalent to a yearly salary of $52,000, at their new job and must begin working by Labor Day -- Monday, September 6. Qualifying individuals may accept a job with an employer immediately to qualify for the bonus. The bonus will be awarded when the individual has stopped filing for unemployment benefits and completed at least 10 weeks of work with an employer, and will be offered on a first come, first-serve basis. This bonus will be paid by the state, not the employer.
