**Is premium gas actually “better” for your car?**

Not necessarily.

If your vehicle is designed to run on **regular 87 octane**, filling it with premium usually doesn’t magically:

❌ Add horsepower
❌ Improve fuel economy
❌ Clean the engine better
❌ Make the car “run healthier”

Higher octane fuel is designed to resist engine knock. Some engines **require or recommend it** — but if yours doesn’t, you may just be spending extra money at the pump.

The best answer? **Use the octane your vehicle manufacturer recommends.**
