Two icons embrace on the day that love is universally celebrated. The W16 MISTRAL – the ultimate BUGATTI roadster – meets the Mistral, the mighty wind of southern France.

As the airstream blows from the Rhone River valley through the picturesque Côte d’Azur and into the Gulf of Lion in the northern Mediterranean, the W16 MISTRAL comes into its own, connecting with nature and entwining with the elements.

Like the unique wind, the W16 MISTRAL combines power, strength, agility and a sense of freedom and adventure. It is also the last new BUGATTI creation to have at its core the iconic 16-cylinder heart that has helped define the brand in its modern era. This is a finale steeped in adoration. BUGATTI is expanding its luxury portfolio with the refined eyewear “Collection One”.

Each of the nine-style sets comprising 37 pieces is meticulously crafted from solid 925 sterling silver trim with genuine 18k gold, palladium, carbon fiber, or Macassar ebony. And its manufacturing techniques, such as the use of Positive V***r Deposition (PVD) – a process in which a solid material is vaporized in a vacuum and deposited onto the surface of the product to boost its wearing resistance - have never been employed before in the eyewear industry.

To establish a design for Collection One that is innovative in every sense, BUGATTI partnered with Larry D. Sands, whose legendary career in the optical fashion space spans over 60 years.

For Bugatti from the EB110 era Le Mans 1994 feels like yesterday. So exciting was the first and only participation of the EB110 at the most demanding endurance race in the world.

After a successful test weekend in May 1994 in preparation for the race, the EB110S qualified in n 17th position on June 18 in a field of fifty support cars. The EB110S recorded an average speed of 190.55 km/h and its fastest lap of 4:16,94 minutes. On June 19, after 230 rounds and with just a few more to go, Jean-Christophe Boullion had to evade a Dodge Viper and was catapulted off the track. This incident took place after 23 hours and 13 minutes, merely 47 minutes before the race was scheduled to finish.

This EB110S later received the epithet ‘Le Mans’; it had impressed an affluent Monegasque investor so much that he ordered two EB110 units to participate in the American IMSA sports car championship.
