April Fools’ Day isn’t just about pranks — it actually has a fascinating history! 🤡📅

One of the most popular theories dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. Before the change, New Year’s celebrations happened around late March through April 1. When January 1 became the official start of the year, people who didn’t catch on were teased and called “April fools.”

Over time, the tradition evolved into a day filled with jokes, hoaxes, and lighthearted fun. Some historians also connect it to ancient festivals like Hilaria in Rome or the medieval Feast of Fools, where humor and playful rule-breaking were part of the celebration.
