Stay tuned! Always access to all the businesses and homes on 3 Mile North of Hammond from S. Airport rd. It’s open!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Due to a utility conflict within the intersection, the Hammond Road Reconstruction & Safe Routes to School Project is now anticipated to move into its next phase beginning Wednesday, August 19, with the reopening of the Hammond Road and 3 Mile Road intersection.

Once the intersection is reopened to traffic, 3 Mile Road will be fully open to traffic north of the intersection, as well as Hammond Road east of the intersection.

Hammond Road Closure:
Hammond Road between Townline Road and west of the 3 Mile Road intersection will be closed for reconstruction. This segment of Hammond Road is anticipated to remain closed until mid- to late September.

3 Mile Road Closure:
3 Mile Road between Napoleon Way and south of the Hammond Road intersection will remain closed for the Safe Routes to School project. This segment will reopen to traffic on Monday, August 24.

Access to residents and businesses within the road closure areas will be maintained. All other traffic should follow the posted detours:

Hammond Road Detour:
Hammond Road → Garfield Road → South Airport Road → 3 Mile Road → Hammond Road

3 Mile Road Detour:
3 Mile Road → South Airport Road → Garfield Road → 3 Mile Road

Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time. Additional project updates will be provided prior to future construction phases.

Reminder. 3 Mile and Hammond Rd Intersection is closed starting today. South Airport to 3 Mile and head south to get to all businesses.
