Another busy week at Composite Yacht, with plenty of progress happening throughout the shop!

From fairing and shaping the hull of our CY62 Offshore Convertible, to structural work, helm installations, and precision CNC machining, there's no shortage of projects keeping our crew busy.

These shots offer a little glimpse into the many different stages of custom boatbuilding happening under our roofs. Some of the work is highly visible, while much of it will never be seen once these boats are finished. But every step matters.

It's the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and hard work of our talented crew that turn drawings and raw materials into one-of-a-kind boats.

Built from the ground up, right here on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Built for a mission. Delivered today.
Today we had the privilege of delivering the new CY46 Research Vessel to St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
This project is a great example of what the CY46 platform adapts to so well: a serious working boat built around the mission.
For St. Mary’s, that mission is marine science and research. The result is an expansive working cockpit, enclosed pilothouse, dedicated research space, overnight accommodations and a full head, powered by twin Cummins QSLs and equipped with SeaKeeper stabilization.
But that versatility extends well beyond research.
The CY46 platform can be configured for a wide range of commercial applications; from research and survey work to USCG-inspected passenger service, dive operations, charter work and other specialized missions.
That’s the advantage of starting with a proven platform and building it around what the owner actually needs.
This isn’t a production boat adapted to do a job. It was built around the job from the very beginning.
We’re incredibly proud of the Composite Yacht crew who brought this project to life, and grateful to St. Mary’s College of Maryland for trusting us to build it.
We can’t wait to see where she goes, and what gets discovered along the way.

We appreciate the shoutout from our MTU partners!
The CY55 was one of those projects that really shows what “custom” means at Composite Yacht. The owner came to us with a pretty simple request that wasn’t so simple to accomplish: build a 55-foot sportfishing yacht in Chesapeake Style capable of 55 knots.
Meeting that goal meant engineering the entire boat around performance; advanced carbon/Kevlar laminates, weight reduction where it mattered, and a conventional drivetrain powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M96s.
The result is a roughly 45,000 lb boat that cruises at nearly 50 knots and tops out around 55 knots, all while maintaining the strength, ride and usability we expect from a Composite Yacht.
Projects like this are why we love building truly custom boats. Bring us the mission, and we’ll figure out how to build it.

Another busy week in the books here at Composite Yacht.

From new construction to refits, repairs, fabrication and everything in between, there’s never a shortage of projects moving through the shop. Big boats, small boats, old boats and brand-new ones. They all get the same attention to detail from a crew that knows how to build things right.

We’re fortunate to have a talented group of craftsmen under one roof, and these Friday walks through the shop are always a good reminder of just how much gets accomplished in a week.

Another busy week in the books here at Composite Yacht.
From new construction and custom fabrication to refits, repairs and everything in between, there’s always something taking shape around the shop. It takes a talented crew and a lot of different skill sets to do what we do. Design, composite laminates, paint, mechanical, electrical, metal fabrication, CNC and plenty of good old-fashioned boatbuilding.

Project update!
The latest CY26 is getting close, and she's shaping up to be a real stunner!
Faux teack accents from , teak covering boards and ladder back seating, 17" Garmin 9000 Series MFD's & SeaKeeper Rides from and more. Her twin Yamaha F200's will give her about 3mpg at an easy 26kt cruise, 2.5 mpg at 35kts, and a real world top end of 48kts.

Today’s Friday Shop Shot is a little different.

On September 11, 2001, as thousands of people fled Lower Manhattan, an extraordinary armada answered the call. Ferries, tugboats, fishing boats, tour boats, workboats and private vessels converged on the waterfront to evacuate people trapped by the destruction.

Known as Operation Boatlift, it became one of the largest maritime evacuations in history. Captains and crews didn’t wait to be asked. They simply saw people who needed help, pointed their bows toward Manhattan, and went.

As boatbuilders and people who make our living on the water, that story has always meant something special. It was a powerful reminder that boats are more than fiberglass, steel, wood and engines. In the right hands, they can become lifelines.

Today we remember those we lost, those who ran toward danger, and the mariners who answered the call from the water.
