Made some solid progress on the ’56 Ford. I installed the new door latches and strikers, finished the transmission tunnel and kick panels, and welded on the new roof skin and drip rails. With that wrapped up, I loaded everything up and sent it out for media blasting, along with a batch of parts for powder coating.

One step closer to bringing this old Ford back to life.

Another solid day in the shop on the RS/Z28. The metal work is officially wrapped up, the factory coating has been stripped away, and everything is sealed up in primer. I finished by welding on the vinyl top trim pins, checking off another major step before final bodywork. Every day brings this build one step closer to hitting the road.

The frame, engine, and transmission are almost ready to start coming together with the body. The build is finally starting to take shape, and all the hard work is beginning to pay off. 🔥

Front end mocked up on the Z/28 and all door gaps set. Everything is aligned and dialed in for a clean, consistent fit.

When I was building the long bed and couldn’t source the parts, I called my friend Nathan at Custom Fabrication and Welding. He supplied the 16-gauge sheet metal and made all the bends to match the factory bed profile. From there, I took the top rails and welded them to the bed sides. Then we fabricated new bed braces and a new front wall. After that, I sourced two sets of short-bed running boards and modified them to replace the original long-bed set.

Got the summit white and ember red paint along with 4 coats of Tamco clear laid down. Then sprayed lizard skin and jet black to the trunk,bottom and firewall of the 63 impala. Now time to get to all the other parts.

Another year gone too fast. 2026 here we come! Will have some paint on the impala by the end of the week and then a couple of Camaros and the 56 ford falling in line.
