We are aware of a recent post circulating online that misrepresents an interaction at our business. In the video, it is claimed that one of our employees required a payment simply to use the restroom. THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE.

Our store policy, which is clearly posted, states that restrooms are available for customers only. We do not advertise or claim anywhere that we have a public restroom. In fact, our building and the doors of the restroom clearly state “Customers Only.” During this interaction, the employee informed the individuals of this policy. The customer’s mother then chose to make a purchase (a honeybun), after which access to the restroom was granted. Even though the mother was the paying customer, our employee still allowed the daughter to go ahead and use the restroom as well.

Following this incident, the daughter returned and confronted our employee, accusing him of charging people to use the restroom. She recorded this interaction and posted it with a caption claiming that customers were being charged to use the restroom. This portrayal is misleading and inaccurately suggests wrongdoing, when in reality our employee was simply enforcing our clearly posted customers-only restroom policy.

She also posted a Google review repeating the claim that customers were being “made to pay to use the restroom,” along with an additional serious allegation that our business sells illegal pills to customers.

The allegation that our business sells illegal drugs is completely false and was not mentioned anywhere in her Facebook post, yet it was added to her Google review. This raises serious concerns about the intent behind these claims. What began as a simple explanation of our customers-only restroom policy has been escalated into misleading and harmful accusations.

Additionally, the individual commented under her own post referring to our business as a “money hungry mess.” Anyone who knows us, works with us, or regularly visits our store understands that we go above and beyond for our customers every day.

We also felt it was important to speak up because, in the video, she directed a comment toward the employee’s younger brother, telling him that when he grows up, he should not be like his older brother. This statement was unnecessary and inappropriate. The employee she referred to is the individual who built this store, runs it from morning until close, and handles the majority of daily operations. He is an extremely hardworking and kind individual who consistently goes above and beyond for customers.

Like any business, we have the right to set reasonable policies, including limiting restroom access to customers. Maintaining a restroom involves ongoing costs such as cleaning, stocking supplies, water usage, and electricity. For these reasons, we will continue to enforce our customers-only restroom policy.

We take accusations of this nature very seriously and want to be clear that we operate in full compliance with all laws and regulations. We believe the situation has been presented in a misleading way, and we remain committed to treating all customers fairly and respectfully while upholding our store policies.
