James was much more than a salesman. He was a friend, a familiar face to so many throughout Valdosta and the surrounding communities, and someone whose larger-than-life personality was impossible to miss. His infectious laugh, determination, kindness, and ability to connect with people made an impact everywhere he went.
James was well known in South Georgia long before he joined our team. A proud Lowndes Viking and former Georgia Southern football player, he was part of Georgia Southern’s 1986 national championship team and later poured that same passion into coaching and mentoring young athletes. He also brought joy to countless families as “Southern Santa,” something that meant a great deal to him.
Those of us at 67 Motors were fortunate to know James personally and to have him as part of our team. Hunt had the privilege of working alongside James for many years, going back to their days at Griffin, and we know his absence will be felt deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with James’ children, grandchildren, family, friends, and the entire community whose lives he touched.
Rest easy, Wildman. You will be deeply missed, and you will always be part of the 67 Motors family. ❤️
James’ family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to the Boys & Girls Club.
