After not racing much for a while, the last two months have gone by quickly. The Plan had been to get the Red/White car built in time to run it at Pitt Race in April. The car was assembled in time to test at Roebling the week before and it ran great. Seemed to be fast enough to be competitive. It had a clutch issue which turned out to be an oil leak. That was fixed and we took both cars to Pitt intending to run both on the test day. It rained all day and we didn’t even take them out of the trailer until Saturday morning. We chose to run the Red car and it turned out that it had some issue that allowed it to run fast for a few laps and then slow down. That left us with 6th and 7th place finishes in the two races. The track was wet for most of the weekend and our results were not that great. At least the cars came back unscathed. Last weekend we raced the black car at Carolina Motorsports Park with NASA and the results were much better. Michael led all but two laps of the three races. It wasn’t without competition but race experience paid off in end with two wins and a third(after getting run off the track on the last lap by a backmarker Spec E30 on the last lap). Next up will be the June Sprints at Road America. Taking both cars to run the test day. We will see if the old man can keep up.
