Before Milton kicks in, it'll be good to know a few things about technology to make sure you're able to find safety.
iPhones 14 and later have the satellite SOS feature, and as of iOS18 you now have the ability to text non-emergency persons using satellites as well. Google Pixel 9 and later also has Satellite SOS capabilities.
There are a handful of eSim websites out there, Airalo is one I've had good luck with. You can buy data packs to use as a secondary eSim on your phone, and there are data packs with multiple service providers tied into it. During Helene some providers had service available, and many others didn't. It's a shot in the dark, but $8 to have data seems worth it.
Oh, and charge your laptops, your battery banks, and everything else you're able to charge.
