An amazing weekend GRIDLIFE Circuit Legends

Chris Ferraro was smooth and fast behind the wheel with a new PB.

New front and rear aero were great.

Other than a minor setback end of day Friday that was fixed on Saturday morning the car did well. iykyk

Lime Rock Park and Gridlife put on the best Automotive / Motorsport / Music event. If you haven't been you are missing something special.

Thanks to my Son for trusting me to design , develop,build and support the car. Thanks to my family for their understanding when I'm too busy with the car.

In the off-season Chris decided he didn't want to use the original Voltex uprights and pedestals. A new fab project ? Say no more.

We mounted the wing body to a couple of ladders in the physical location he wanted. Then took a bunch of measurements and proceeded to solid model some custom uprights and pedestals.

From our CAD we had Uprights CNC laser cut from aluminum sheet and Pedestals CNC milled from billet.

We are really pleased with the final design.

This wing has a lot of sentimental value. Chris was "encouraged" to buy it during one of our visits to Upgarage and after purchase he carried it through the Tokyo subway system. We also a year later got to tour Voltex to see how they are made.

This is my version of ADD.

I was gathering spare parts for Gridlife. The M3 spare accelerator pedal has a broken hinge so it's not a drop in spare.

Instead of working on the car I fired up my laptop to create a design to solve this problem.

I'm confident there is a lot of broken pedals out there that can be repaired on the cheap. Unless my Google skills suck no one offers this. And its dumb BMW doesn't offer it because it's a separate part within the pedal assembly. You are forced to buy an entire assembly for $900!!!

This is my first pass design for fitment check. This piece slides and locks into the back of the pedal and slides into the T slot at the base of the housing.

I engineered injected molded living hinges in Polypropylene back in the 90s. So not a reach to reverse engineer a replacement.

I am going to take a stab at a 3d printed solution. Not sure its even possible to get an acceptable number of life cycles from a printed part.

Or ...... tell me someone already sells it.

I am open to investing in an injection mold if there is a small demand.

Our new siamesed duct. Design, Engineering , CAD and 3D Printing all done here at Ransom Garage. All of our duct designs also have drill jigs so we can precisely drill for 1/8 mounting rivets and make a hole saw pilot hole that's perfectly concentric.

We utilize single round , double round and single oval ducts depending on application.

Its got surface rust in the wheel arches that appear to be from rock chips because it rusted from outside and not from the inside of the quarter.

I've said I like the EP3 Type R. I've always liked Wagons. It's not a stretch to make this a Type R inspired Wagon. I've been watching these for a while and the right one came along.
