A story of crisis/tragedy averted

I was JUST lucky enough to find HIDDEN tire damage on the inner side wall while replacing brakes on my truck.

So I replaced the tire, and found very soon thereafter that it was completely flat — despite being fully inflated something like 24 hours earlier..

I was so close to becoming one of those stranded roadside motorists you pity so much — attempting to change a tire in full midday sun with distracted drivers of other vehicles roaring by at 80-100+ mph.

My only advantage in that situation is not being limited to the low-grade roadside-emergency equipment that most cars are equipped with.

Are you the type of car owner who likes to trade-in every few years, or when the odometer hits six figures? If so, this particular post may not be for you.

While factory recommended oil change mileage intervals are usually adequate to avoid major mechanical problems and give your engine a decent lifespan, oil-related issues have occasionally appeared in vehicles whose owners follow a factory schedule.

For the current top 10 best selling passenger cars in America, the average factory recommended Oil Change interval is a little over 8,000 miles.
