If you, or someone you know that has a small business, I bet they can tell you the plethora of different events that they have helped out. From local schools to big charities. We are asked all the time if we can give something for 'insert cause'. We love helping! However, there are times that we say no.

Each and every business has the right to help with what they want. If they don't believe in the cause, they can say no. That doesn't mean that it's ok for the public to drag them through the mud. Chances are, they are probably tapped out of what they can give. Most of us budget for events and sponsorship.

We have given to so much in the last six years that it would probably make most people sick. However, we do it because we want to help within our community. Sometimes, for whatever reason, it just isn't in the cards. We have been bashed in the past. We also know that to some, whatever the reason may be, doesn't matter. They have to live with that.

This post is not intended to cause arguments. This is a simple support post for a great local business. (That does a lot more than people think)

Charlie's Pub & Grub, keep being you! We see you and we have nothing but admoration for your determination and love for everyone. We will be seeing you for lunch this week!

Ladies and gents, here is a little history lesson for the upcoming holiday.

In the 1700s, Great Britain ruled 13 American colonies. As time went on, colonists became increasingly frustrated by British policies, particularly the imposition of taxes without giving the colonists a voice in the British Parliament. This rallying cry of "no taxation without representation" ultimately sparked protests, boycotts, and open rebellion. By 1775, the Revolutionary War had begun.

The Declaration of Independence
In early 1776, leaders from the 13 colonies gathered in Philadelphia for the Second Continental Congress to decide how to respond to the British Crown. A committee was formed to draft a formal statement of separation. Thomas Jefferson wrote the initial draft, which was reviewed and refined by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams.

On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress officially voted in favor of independence. Two days later, on July 4, 1776, they formally adopted the Declaration of independence. The document famously declared that all people are endowed with certain unalienable rights, including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".

This year marks the 250th anniversary of our country. We have ordered special edition shop shirts to celebrate our country with you. That being said, we will only have a select amount that will be available.
