Finished up the interior wiring on the Thunderbird, and all factory dash functions are officially alive and well. ✅All ECU functions have been tested and everything looks great. We also ditched the original vacuum‑operated windshield wipers and upgraded to an electric motor—because relying on engine vacuum to see in the rain is a bold life choice. For anyone who’s never experienced vacuum wipers: imagine driving uphill, giving it some throttle, engine vacuum drops… and the wipers politely decide it’s a good time to take a break. 😄 Electric wipers are a massive improvement. After everything was installed, I had to chase down a no‑dash‑lights issue. Turned out the problem was corrosion at the rheostat contact point—60‑plus years will do that. Cleaned it up and the lights came right back. This factory gauge cluster project originally started with exactly ONE working gauge: the fuel gauge. And honestly, if you’re only allowed one gauge to work, that’s probably the best one to have. Everything else is just details.— Grover’s Speed ShopFixing yesterday’s engineering decisions, one wire at a time.

Optimal tuning demands precise data, and repositioning the CTS to another location yielded considerable improvements in the AFR at idle. The objective now is to enhance the overall tune quality to complement the vehicle's visual appeal.
