Woodland Turned Art
Skip Lawver is a Professor Emeritus from Eastern Michigan University who lives with his lovely wife, Jo Lynn, in Milan, Michigan. They celebrated their 54th Anniversary this past year. He has worked and built many projects with wood his entire life. He recently started turning wood into unique, high quality products from bowls, vases, platters, Christmas Ornaments and decorative wooden snowmen and snowwomen. Each item is turned from local timbers and is finished utilizing various dyes and finishes. Each bowl and platter is finished with a food-safe finish. Many logs have been rescued from the burn pit and turned into a unique gift.

The mission of Woodland Turned Art is to share the gift of turned wood to those that desire a unique gift for weddings, house warmings, or to grace the homeowner with a one of a kind, piece of wooden art. Each piece is designed and turned with the vision of the crafter. No two pieces are alike, and each has a soul of its own.

About Woodland Turned Art: I have been turning wood items for approximately 8 years and really enjoy the creativity aspect and joy in finding that hidden beauty in the various grains in the wood being turned. Most of my work involves native species of Oak, Walnut, Adder and others native to Michigan and surrounding states.

I can honestly say that no two pieces are identical, and each has a uniqueness of its own.
