Over Rosh Hashanah, Chaverim of Bergen County responded to two separate calls involving missing minors.

In both cases, concerned families had lost contact for several hours, with plans and expected arrival times long past. Something didn’t feel right.

Our members immediately mobilized, utilizing our training and resources for missing-person searches. Multiple members responded, and we were grateful to locate both minors and safely reunite them with their families.

These calls are an important reminder: especially when we may not be using our cell phones, make clear plans with your children about where they’re going and when they’re expected home—and stick to those plans.

And if you ever lose contact with a loved one and something feels off, trust your gut and reach out.

That’s what we’re here for.

We’re your friends you can always count on.

Wishing our entire community a safe and peaceful New Year.

What a beautiful day at the Friendship Circle Walk!

Chaverim of Bergen County was proud to provide security and crowd control as families, volunteers, and community members came together to support the incredible work of the Friendship Circle of Bergen County.

The Friendship Circle brings together thousands of people throughout Bergen County by matching compassionate, altruistic volunteers with young individuals who can benefit from friendship, connection, and support. The relationships and meaningful moments that come from this organization are truly inspiring, creating friendships and making a lasting difference in so many lives.

We were honored to be there and help make this special event run smoothly and safely.

Thank you to everyone who came out, volunteered, organized, and supported this beautiful cause. We are proud to stand alongside organizations that make our community a stronger, more caring, and better place to live.

This week, we had the privilege of hosting a special Member Appreciation Dinner at Sheinkin, bringing together our dedicated Chaverim members, sister organizations, and friends from across the region for an evening of appreciation, camaraderie, and celebration.

Joining us were our partners from Rockland, Brooklyn and Orange County, along with Shomrim organizations from across the New York area, including Queens, Manhattan, Rockaway, Nassau, Flatbush, Boro Park, Williamsburg, Crown Heights, Staten Island and beyond. It was truly special to have so many organizations who share the same commitment to serving and protecting our communities under one roof.

We were also honored to hear from Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Curenton, who joined us and shared words of appreciation for the volunteers who dedicate their time to helping others. We also are grateful to Mayor Mark Schwartz for his kind words and support.

Most importantly, the evening was about recognizing our Chaverim members and their wives — the volunteers who answer calls late at night, in the middle of the day, in the heat, in the cold, and in all kinds of weather. Whenever a member of our community needs help, they know that someone is ready to respond.

Their dedication, selflessness, and willingness to always be there for others is what makes Chaverim so special.

Thank you to every member who gives of their time and puts service before themselves. This night was for you.

Here’s to our members, our sister organizations, and the incredible community we are proud to serve together.
