One minute can change a life forever.

That’s why our members are out in the community handing out safety reflectors to help keep pedestrians visible at night, along with vehicle reminder magnets encouraging parents and caregivers to always check the back seat before walking away from their car.

What you're seeing now is our members on one round of giving the community these necessary safety tools at Grand & Essex Market .

We are grateful for our sponsors like Quality Air, Inc. for making this initiative possible.

These simple tools may not always seem so important, but it's small reminders can prevent devastating tragedies.

Prevention is one of the most important forms of community safety, and we are proud to do our part to help protect the families in our community every single day.

We thank Rabbi Neuberger for his blessings, giving our work that extra boost and meaning.

If a single reflector helps someone get seen, or a single magnet helps someone remember a child in the back seat, then all our efforts are worth it.

Chaverim of Bergen County is proud to announce the addition of a new emergency response vehicle to better serve our community.

This vehicle will help our volunteers respond faster and continue providing assistance whenever and wherever needed.

*I want to start with a question that will get people's attention:

Does your car have a spare tire?

A lot of new car models are coming out that do not come with a spare tire in case you have a flat.

We were seeing this a lot of the past years. So we developed our EZ spare program.

This is now being replicated with many of our sister organizations.

We recently had the honor of showing the incredible members our sister organization of Middlesex County Chaverim, how to use the equipment properly and safely.

We reccomend you check the sticker on the inside of your driver door for a sticker which will tell you if you have a spare or not and if you do, familiarizing yourself with where it is.

This is just one of the ways Chaverim trains to be there for you when the need arises.

Preparing in case of an emergency.

Our members gave a hands on presentation to girls on what to do in case of different emergencies.

We covered roadside emergencies and how best to react in order to stay safe thoughtout such an occurrence.

We also covered the ins and outs on how to safely boost a car and how to change a tire, if the need should ever occur.

While Chaverim will always be there to help, the knowledge keeps them safe and offers a confidence through knowledge, knowing that if they would need to, the can react to an emergency situation.

Lastly, we covered how best to reach out to emergency services including how to download and use the Chaverim Assist app so help will always be on it way if needed.

The girls were engaged, asked insightful questions and overall, we all had a great time.

It is our honor to give presentations that keep young women safe.

Thousands gathered at the Ohel of the Rebbe of Lubavitch in Queens over Lag Baomer.

Chaverim of Bergen County and assisted RNSP - Rockaway Nassau Safety Patrol with providing safety, security and crowd control to the many people who gathered.

Collaboration with our partner Shomrim agencies, ensures the events happen safely and smoothly.

We assisted CAJAC - The Community Alliance for Jewish-Affiliated Cemeteries with security and traffic control while they coordinated the burying of religious books, Shamos, with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Assisting and servicing alongside this wonderful organization with it's meaningful and purposeful mission is our honor.

We are proud to congratulate our very own, Izzy Infield BC78, on his acceptance to the Teaneck Fire Department .

We are sure that excellence and dedication Izzy brings to his service to our community with Chaverim of Bergen County will continue with his service with the incredible Teaneck Fire Department.

While we have members of all different backgrounds with so many different passions and skills, one thing we all have in common is a desire to serve our community however we can.

We applaud Izzy for his dedication and efforts in becoming one of our Teaneck's bravest and we look forward to seeing what he'll achieve in the coming years.
