💔 Rest in Peace, Dolly Parton — An Appalachian Icon 🕊️

All of us at Bud’s Wrecker Service are saddened by the loss of a true Tennessee treasure.

Dolly Parton never forgot these mountains or the people who call them home. From the Imagination Library, which has placed millions of books into the hands of children, to scholarships, educational programs, the My People Fund for families affected by the Smoky Mountain wildfires, and countless other charitable efforts throughout East Tennessee and Appalachia — Dolly spent a lifetime giving back.

She showed the world what we here in Claiborne County already know: you can come from humble beginnings in the mountains of East Tennessee, go farther than you ever dreamed, and still remember where you came from.

Dolly represented so much of what makes Appalachia special — faith, kindness, determination, generosity, and taking care of your neighbors.

Her music made her an icon, but her heart for these mountains and their people made her one of our own.

From the entire Bud’s Wrecker Service family, our thoughts and prayers are with Dolly’s family, friends, and everyone mourning this tremendous loss.

❤️ Rest easy, Dolly. You made Tennessee proud. You made Appalachia proud. And these mountains will never forget you.

Well, apparently EVERYBODY is running for Mayor of Claiborne County now. 😂

People are nominating their dogs, cats, chickens, goats… probably a possum or two by sundown.

So before anybody gets any ideas — NOT US. 🤣

Bud’s Wrecker Service will NOT be throwing our hook in the mayor’s race. We’ve got enough to tow without trying to drag Claiborne County politics around too. 😂

We’ll stick to what we know:
🚨 Towing cars
🪝 Pulling people out of bad decisions
😂 And staying FAR away from the ballot!

🍎✏️ Happy First Day of School, Claiborne County! 🚌❤️

From all of us at Bud’s Wrecker Service, we want to wish every student, teacher, bus driver, and school employee a safe, successful, and amazing first day back! We hope this school year is filled with new friendships, great memories, and lots of learning.

As everyone gets back into the school routine, please remember that school buses are on the road again. Tennessee law requires drivers to stop for a school bus when its red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, unless you’re traveling on the opposite side of a divided highway with a physical median.

⚠️ A few friendly reminders:
🛑 Stop when a school bus is loading or unloading children.
📵 Put the phone down and stay alert in school zones.
🚸 Slow down and watch for children walking to and from bus stops.

Let’s all do our part to keep Claiborne County’s kids safe this school year.

The Bud’s Wrecker Service family would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, and all those affected by the tragic passing of Claiborne County Mayor Joe Brooks.

Our community is a close-knit one, and news like this touches so many lives. We pray for comfort, strength, and peace for everyone grieving during this difficult time.

We asked for green grass… not for Claiborne County to become the newest branch of Norris Lake! 🤦‍♂️

At this point, we’re pretty sure Noah is somewhere around here looking for lumber, the ducks have officially taken over, and the fish are asking for directions to Walmart. 🦆🐟🛶

If you’re headed out today…
🚗 Slow down.
💦 Leave plenty of space between vehicles.
🌊 And don’t let that “little puddle” fool you… it may be deeper than your ex’s excuses.

Remember… four-wheel drive doesn’t mean four-wheel float. 😅

If your Sunday drive suddenly turns into a sightseeing tour of the creek, don’t panic—we’ll come fish you out.

🇺🇸250 YEARS OF FREEDOM… NOW THAT’S SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE! 🇺🇸

America is celebrating a big one today—250 years of freedom! ❤️🤍💙 That’s 250 years of independence, resilience, hard work, and the small-town values that still make places like ours feel like home.

🌧️ It may be starting out a little rainy this morning, but don’t let that fool you! It’s shaping up to be a beautiful 4th of July (we hope😬), so grab the family, fire up the grill, wave those flags, and make some memories.

A few friendly reminders before the fun begins…

💧 Drink plenty of water.
🌭 Eat that extra burger. It’s a holiday—you’ve earned it.
🎆 If Uncle Bob starts saying, “I’ve been doing fireworks for years…” maybe hand him a sweet tea instead. 😂

☀️ The asphalt is one degree away from making grilled cheese.

☀️ Your AC is putting in overtime…
☀️ And your car is looking at you like, “If we’re driving in this heat, I’m filing a complaint.” 😂
☀️ And for the love of everybody riding with you… don’t forget your deodorant. 🤣

If today is any indication of what’s coming… this heat is just getting warmed up. 😅 It’s going to be a HOT week, so don’t let your vehicle (or yourself) get caught unprepared as we roll into the holiday weekend 🇺🇸

Before you hit the road, give your vehicle a little TLC:

🚗 Check your coolant.
🛞 Check your tire pressure.
🔋 Make sure your battery isn’t already waving the white flag.
💧 Toss a few bottles of water in the vehicle for you and your passengers.

🐾 And please DON’T LEAVE YOUR PETS OR KIDS in a parked vehicle—not even for a minute. Even with the windows cracked, the inside of a vehicle can become dangerously hot in just a few minutes 🌡️

Because let’s be honest… your car deserves a vacation too—but the shoulder of the interstate isn’t exactly a beach resort. 😅

Today we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who work hard, lead by example, and are always there when their families need them most.

Just like a tow truck on a tough day, fathers are often the ones who show up when things get difficult, help carry the load, and keep everyone moving forward.
