The City of Tarpon Springs Emergency Management, along with Pinellas County Emergency Management, is monitoring Hurricane Isaias in coordination with the Florida Department of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service Tampa Bay, Florida, and the National Hurricane Center. At present, no significant direct impacts are forecast for Pinellas County.

Rain throughout the week, combined with new moon high tides and onshore winds from the storm, could cause localized street and yard flooding in low-lying and coastal areas through the weekend.

Please check local conditions before traveling. Never drive through flooded streets, and if you must travel through standing water, go slowly to avoid creating wakes that can impact nearby homes and businesses. Remember: Turn around, don’t drown.

Traveling to get together with family and friends for Thanksgiving? Remember to do a final safety check!

Check your vehicle’s fluids and tires. Make sure you have your driver license, registration, and insurance handy. When packing, do not overload your vehicle, which can help prevent tire blowouts.

We post it all over, yet every storm we go out and pull folks out of the water, this storm thank God, no fatalities, they were lucky. Please don't do it, 12 inches of water is enough to float most cars and then your out of control....if it is fast moving water your in real life threatening trouble real quick. Your gambling with your life and the life of your passengers. Just turn around.
