This Mazda came into the shop looking like it was beyond saving. The coolant looked like a milkshake, which is usually a sign of a major problem. Fortunately, after a thorough inspection, we confirmed that the engine oil and transmission fluid had not mixed with the coolant.

The culprit? A simple but costly owner mistake—putting the wrong fluid in the wrong reservoir.

We performed a complete cooling system flush, installed a brand-new thermostat, and got the cooling system back to operating the way it should. Sometimes what looks like catastrophic engine failure is actually a repairable mistake with the right diagnosis.
