To start the 2022 year off, the Ladt (Shea Tolbert) and I took a date weekend trip to a place called Orcas Island up in the higher San Juans.

What a s**tshow this whole ordeal had been after the SD.

Took him into the shop for repairing the AC system (Which we had worked on and almost got it to work before the trip) Only to have the ECU actually fail during his time with the shop.

That is a pretty substantial enough thing to deal with, but on top of that several of the shop mechanics caught covid and ended up being out of work for a month or so... This lead to a hellish backorder of work on their part, and due to that and part sourcing problems, they would pretty much have Brutus for the entire rest of the year. It sucked. But at least I had a second car.

The second museum we visited was near the Box Elder college campuses. We spent a bunch of time at the James E. Martin Paleontology Research Laboratory.

Lots of dinosaur and fossil and geographic things! Recommend this place hard core!

The third day was definetly more exciting. We pretty much just trekked around the mountain roads and did some climbing. Real chill day with some canyon carving. Even had a spat of such with a C8 Corvette... which is the first one i'd actually ever seen in person. Both he and I had fun cutting some corners tight. After that we all met up at some late and chilled for awhile before dinner and back to camp.

The first day or so we were out there were cool. The first day we went to a few museums and just sort of hung around until the evening to rest.

And the second day we went through some of the South Dakota National Forest. Which is full of beautiful forests, mountains, and a huge wildlife preserve! Got a crap load of pics from both museums, forest, and all that I'll post separately!

Also. Wouldnt be a car trip without some stupid thing breaking.
